Windows 2000/XP

Windows 2000 and XP have built-in support for PostScript type 1 fonts. For earlier Windows platforms, scroll down to the next section in this page.

Procedure

  1. Open the Control Panel by clicking Start | Settings | Control Panel.
  2. Double click the Fonts folder.
  3. Choose File | Install New Font... to pop up the installation dialog.
  4. In the folder menu, navigate to the folder containing the fonts you are going to install. If you are installing from a CD, be sure that "Add without copying files" is not checked.
  5. Select the PFB files and press OK.

Earlier Windows (95, 98, NT and ME)

If you are running on an earlier Windows platform, you need Adobe Type Manager (ATM) to install Postscript fonts. There are two versions from Adobe: Light and Deluxe. The Light version is free of charge and can be downloaded from here.

Procedure

  1. Open Adobe Type Manager. If you do not have it in your computer, download one from Adobe website.
  2. Set the Source to Browse for fonts.
  3. Navigate to the folder containing the fonts you wish to install.
  4. Select the fonts and click Add button.

Uninstall Postscript Fonts

To remove the fonts just installed, simply open the fonts folder (clicking the Start | Settings | Control Panel). From the menu, choose File | Remove font. Choose the font you wish to delete and press OK button.
