Crystal Reports 8.5/PDF417

Postby RussellH on Mon Aug 13, 2012 4:13 pm

Hi,

I have a requirement to produce a 2D barcode in Crystal 8.5. I’ve seen the KB article 10026 which details using the MoroviaPDF417Encode function and have got this working to produce a scanable barcode using Fontware V3.5.

The 3rd party is requiring the barcode to be wider and not as tall – Is the only way to control the size in this scenario by adjusting the Font type and/or font size? I’ve seen with Fontware 4.1 and Crystal 9 there is another function (Morovia_PDF417Encode_Set) where you can set the rows, columns and aspect ratio. Is there any way to get this working with Crystal 8.5 as an upgrade is out of the question.

Any help would be appreciated.

Russell,

In order to get other parameters in Crystal Reports, you need to install Support Tools for Morovia 2D Barcode Fonts 3.0.5:

http://www.morovia.com/Products/downloa ... .0.5.3.exe

(Quit Crystal first before running the installer).

After that you can use MoroviaPDF417Encode2 function to adjust number of rows and cols. See this thread for more info:
