Encoding Barcode 128 into Excel Sheet as a Font

Postby hans302 on Tue May 16, 2017 3:02 am

Hi I am a bit of a novice to barcodes, but have an excel program that can encode a data string from an excel cell into a scanable font barcode.

However I believe that I may need a Start and Stop character for the string.....

An example is A010200023J that I need to be encoded. The barcode that is produced directly from this string will not scan.

I have tried Code128 and 3 of 9 but no luck

Can anyone assist?

Mant thanks

You cannot format the data string directly using a barcode font. You need to call an encoder function to convert the data string into barcode string and format the barcode string with the font.

I suggest that you take a look at http://www.morovia.com/excel-barcode-font/. If you are using Code128 font, change the function to Code128Ex.
